The offence
Dennis Charles Hall killed his 10-year-old son, Adrian Hall, by shotgun. Hall became enraged at Adrian for being noisy. His wife and two daughters told police that Hall became enraged at Adrian for being noisy.
The daughters tried to hide Hall’s gun, but Hall found it and shot the boy.
Afterward, Hall told a neighbor: " I couldn't learn him nothing by beating him with a belt. So I guess I learned him something this time."

Police had been called to the Hall home numerous times before Jan. 7, 1990.
