Background
Stanko Jukich was executed at the Nevada State Prison on May 21, 1926 for the crime of murder. Stanko Jukich was born in Yugoslavia on December 23, 1896 and was employed as a miner in Ruth, White Pine County, Nevada.
Jennie Medak was 16 years old. Her mother ran a boarding house where Jukich lived. Jennie Medak had spurned the affections of Jukich and had become engaged to a man in Washington. Jennie Medak had been betrothed at an early age to Jukich but she wanted to marry another.
The offence
Jennie Medak was shot and murdered in her parents home in Ruth, Nevada on 14 Feb 1925 by Stanko Jukich, a 29-year old Yugoslavian miner.
Outcome
Stanko Jukich was convicted of killing Jennie Medak on February 14, 1925. He was executed in the Nevada State Prison gas chamber at Carson City on 21 May 1926.
