Secretary Theodis Beck set March 17, 2006, as the execution date for inmate Patrick L. Moody. The execution was scheduled for 2 a.m. at Central Prison in Raleigh. Moody was 39 years old. Central Prison Warden Marvin Polk planned to explain the execution procedures during a media tour scheduled for Monday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. The media tour was scheduled to last approximately one hour. The media tour was described as the only opportunity to photograph the execution chamber and deathwatch area before the execution. Journalists planning to attend the tour were instructed to arrive at Central Prison’s visitor center promptly at 10:00 a.m. on the tour date and to contact the Department of Correction Public Affairs Office at (919) 716-3700. A photo of Patrick Moody (#0463160) was stated to be obtainable by using the “Offender Search” function on the Department of Correction Web site.
