Background

Darryl D. Turner, 36, was charged in Washington D.C. with three murders over a three-year period.

Toni Ann Burdine was a known prostitute and drug user. Investigators said she was found in an open field in the Northeastern section of Washington D.C. on May 4, 1995. Investigators stated that Burdine, who was 32, had been raped and strangled to death.
