Case details

Amanda Logue (30), known in adult entertainment as “Sunny Dae,” pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in prison on May 21, 2012. She was also described as a porn star and fetish model.

Background

Amanda Logue and her boyfriend, Jason Andrews (28), planned to kill tattoo parlor owner Dennis “Scooter” Abrahamsen (41) after they had sex. The plan included taking money after the killing.

Logue was described as being known for bondage. It was stated that Abrahamsen had hired Logue to work at a sex party at his house. Authorities stated that Logue was hired as a prostitute at the 2010 sex party.

The offence

In the early hours of May 15, 2010, Abrahamsen was stabbed and bludgeoned with a sledgehammer. His body was found face down on a massage table in his home.

After the killing, Logue and Andrews snatched $6,000, credit cards, and a video camera before leaving Abrahamsen’s home. Investigators stated that about $6,000 in cash, a laptop computer, a video camera, a digital camera and a Home Depot credit card were missing from the residence, and it was stated that the credit card was later found on Andrews when he tried to buy goods at a Home Depot.

Investigation

By May 18, detectives had cracked the case and arrested Logue and Andrews.

Arrest and extradition

Logue was arrested in Georgia on May 26 and was taken to a Florida jail where she awaited trial.

On May 28, 2010, Logue was taken to Florida by deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. It was stated that she was arrested at her husband’s residence at 139 Twelve Oaks Drive on May 28, in connection with the murder. It was stated that she signed papers in Lee County Magistrate Court allowing deputies to take her from Lee County to Pasco County’s Land O’Lakes Jail. Lewis Harris, chief deputy for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, said she was in jail with no bail while awaiting extradition.

At the time of the May 28 arrest/extradition proceedings, it was stated that Logue’s husband and a young child were there. Logue refused extradition to Florida in an appearance before a magistrate in Leesburg, and it was stated that there would have to be a governor’s order to extradite her. The time estimate mentioned was “It could take 30 days.”

Investigators said Logue admitted to investigators in Florida that she was a prostitute, and that she accused her boyfriend, Jason Andrews, of the murder. It was stated that Logue said Andrews waited outside until Logue was alone with Abrahamsen and then entered the apartment to kill him.

Text messages and quotations

Hours before the murder, Andrews texted Logue: “I’m so glad you’re really committed to this take. Keep eyes for a knife, etc for me!”

During the party, it was stated that Logue texted her boyfriend several times.

Verbatim text messages mentioned included:

• Andrews wrote: “Just get him on his face either bash or tell me to get in and. Where to go.”
• Logue wrote: “K I’m horny! I’m getting him to play music,” and replied: “Wicked. Ill just be waiting. Really. Take. Your. Time,”
• At 4:29 p.m. on May 16, Logue wrote on her Twitter account using Andrews’ Twitter name “Hearveritas”: “Taking it easy with hearveritas! Laying around eating popcorn and watching movies!”
• At 5:20 p.m., Andrews tweeted: “therealsunnydae and I wanna go watch a movie tonight, any suggestion?”
• On May 21, Andrews wrote on his Twitter account in Hebrew: “Amanda please let me know when you are ok, really. My heart can’t take the weight of the fear that I would never see you again.”
• It was also stated that Andrews texted Logue: “Keep eyes for a knife, etc for me!” and Logue returned a message that she wanted to have sex “after we kill him.”

In addition, the following statement was quoted in court:

Donna Rella, Abrahamsen’s cousin, said: “You're not a person.”
Donna Rella, Abrahamsen’s cousin, said: “You're an evil being.”

Donna Rella was also quoted as saying:

“I hope any time you close your eyes, he comes and haunts you for the rest of your pathetic life,” she said to Logue.

Trial

It was stated that Logue and Andrews were indicted for first degree murder.

In January, Andrews pleaded guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

On May 21, 2012, Logue pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder.

Sentencing

On May 21, 2012, Logue was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to second degree murder.

It was stated that Logue could have faced life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder. In exchange for her plea, it was stated that Logue received a reduced sentence of 40 years.

Other details

Logue was described as being held at Florida’s Pasco County Jail without bail before the plea, and later being held in a Florida jail while awaiting trial.

Andrews was described as being arrested in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and being jailed in Tennessee until he could be extradited to Florida. It was also stated that he was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Chattanooga Police Department after working for several weeks as a manager at the Chattanooga Billiard Club. It was stated that it was unclear if Andrews had a lawyer at that time.

After an attempted use of Abrahamsen’s credit card at Home Depot, it was stated that officials did not have enough evidence to link the pair to the killing and that they were released.

It was stated that on May 19, Logue went home to her husband and child in Georgia.

Logue was described as having been paid to attend a sex party at Abrahamsen’s location on the night before his body was found.
