Theodore W. Gregory was executed at the Nevada State Prison on January 29, 1951. He was convicted of murdering his ex-wife Margaret Tarr in Reno, Nevada on October 8, 1948. Gregory was native of Ravenden, Arkansas and was 46 years old at the time of his death.
Background
Gregory was a barber. His wife divorced him in Las Vegas. After the divorce, they partly reconciled and moved to Reno into the same house, where they lived in adjoining rooms.
Gregory became jealous of his ex-wife. He claimed that she was going to take him back. Margaret Tarr started to see another man while she and Gregory lived together at a boarding house.
The offence
Early on the morning of October 8, 1948, Gregory found Margaret Tarr with this other man. He told him that he had no quarrel with him, and the man fled the scene. Gregory then shot and killed Margaret Tarr.
