Per Pålsson (also called Kitte-Pelle) (September 16, 1828 – February 4, 1914) was a Swedish murderer.
Background
Per Pålsson was born in Östra Tockarp, Örkelljunga.
In 1849, Per Pålsson was 18 years old when he was convicted for the first time. He stood accused of a number of thefts in Örkelljunga and Vedby. He was sentenced to 10 days imprisonment and to work for the local church in Örkelljunga.
He was caught in an act of crime for the second time in 1848. He had committed a number of thefts in the southern parts of Åsbo. He also stole a number of knives and 288 bottons from a Per Månsson in Kyrkolycke.

Hanna Pålsdotter was born on September 2, 1847, in Lemmeshult.
Hanna Pålsdotter died on December 24, 1868, during a robbery gone wrong, ending with Hanna being shot.
Investigation and arrest
Per Pålsson was sentenced in connection with the robbery and murder of Hanna Pålsdotter.
Trial
The Härads court sentenced Pålsson on May 21, 1853 for the robbery and murder of Hanna Pålsdotter. He was sentenced to be whipped and to the death penalty by decapitation.
Sentencing
Per Pålsson’s sentence was reversed to imprisonment, obligatory church duties, and life imprisonment on August 11, 1853.

Outcome
On May 31, 1868, Per Pålsson was fully pardoned and released from prison.
He died on February 4, 1914.
Aftermath
Per Pålsson served time at Örkelljunga prison, Varbergs fästning, and finally Malmö central prison.
A book by Christine Billing, Helene Ehriander, January Garpenhus and Helen Holm Krantz, called Ödes julen i Lemmeshult 1868 covering the murder and its aftermath was published in 1985.
