Background
Tcaiuc was an unemployed youth accused of murdering men.
Michael Newton wrote that the murders involved a girlfriend who lured victims to the woods and that Tcaiuc committed killings from ambush after the victims were drawn in.
The offence
Authorities announced the discovery of twenty-one corpses in various rural locations surrounding their town in Jasi, Romania. The victims were reported to be all male, and they were reportedly slain by Tcaiuc, with the crimes committed without rational motive.
In Tcaiuc’s version of events, the girl would lure men into the woods around Jasi, after which Tcaiuc would attack and slay them from ambush. After each killing, Tcaiuc and his companion reportedly buried the victims together, in the forest or beneath the floor of isolated houses.
Tcaiuc was described as a thrill-killer of men lured to the woods by his girlfriend, allegedly at her insistence.
Investigation
Authorities in Jasi, Romania announced the discovery of twenty-one corpses in various rural locations surrounding their town.
Trial
Tcaiuc was in custody and confessed to the murders.
Tcaiuc insisted that he had killed at the behest of his 17-year-old lover.
At court, Tcaiuc continued to blame his companion for the crimes and said:
"She influenced me like a demon,"

Tcaiuc was sentenced to die.
