Background
Matthew Quintiliano was a 14-year veteran of the Stratford, Connecticut, police department.
The offence
In May 1975, Quintiliano accosted his wife outside the Bridgeport hospital where she worked and shot her eight times with a pistol.
By February 11, he was served with divorce papers. He murdered his wife the next day and was arrested on February 16 on another count of first-degree murder.
