Kramer had known Frances Jones for about 15 years. He said he had given her many clothes and presents over the years. Kramer said they had many dates, but Frances Jones always spurned his marriage proposals. Jones married two other men, but she continued to see Kramer.

On February 15, 1940, Kramer and Frances Jones quarreled. Kramer said he was drunk and in a mad impulse shot Jones.

Sentencing

Kramer was executed at the Nevada State Prison on August 27, 1942.
