Investigation and arrest

Peter Kulaxides was arrested in Athens, Greece, moments before his eighth marriage. In custody, he admitted killing wife number seven, after she “told him lies,” and he denied murdering the first six wives.

He explained that his “incredible run of bad luck had begun” when his first wife collapsed from excitement and joy on receiving the news of Peter’s release from prison, where he had been incarcerated on felony charges.

Confession and denials

Kulaxides admitted killing wife number seven, saying she “told him lies.” He “staunchly denied” murdering the first six.

Trial and disposition

The court rejected his sad story. Kulaxides was convicted of murder charges. He confessed one count in September 1930. His sentence was unknown.
