Background
Cevdet Yilmaz was a Dutch national of Turkish birth and was aged 27.
The offence
Cevdet Yilmaz shot dead six people and wounded four others in a crowded cafe in Delft on Tuesday night. The victims included a woman and her 12-year-old daughter.
Witnesses said the shooting began after an argument between two customers.
Investigation
Dutch police set up a special squad to search for the gunman. Police said they were looking for Sevdet Yilmaz.
Outcome
Cevdet Yilmaz was sentenced to life in prison on March 1984.
